Eve Arnold.

Eve Arnold has died age 99. She missed out on her 100th birthday by a few weeks. She travelled all over the World taking photographs, thus recording much of life in much of the World. She visited both Russia & China. She went to South America. There was an exhibition of her work Barbican in the 90s. She is mainly known because she photographed Marilyn Monroe but this was only part of her work.

When I was a dispatch rider in the 80s we had a regular drop at her flat in Mount Street Mayfair. It was a top floor flat without a lift. She used to make some quirky comments. One time she said the rain is very wet isn’t it?

She was a great lady.

RIP.
